Our Purpose is to provide a collective and authoritative business voice for Huddersfield and to facilitate investment in and around our town.
Huddersfield sits at a strategic position on the East/West transport and communication routes for the Northern economy, with business strength in manufacturing, advanced engineering, hi-tech textiles and services, and high-quality post 16 education with a University whose strengths complement the regional, national and global economies.
The Need —
Huddersfield Unlimited was born from a shared determination to promote Huddersfield as a place to live, work, learn and play, championing the town’s strengths and future potential.
We act as catalyst, convenor, enabler and advocate, mobilising business and University expertise to attract private investment, influence economic plans and shape infrastructure across the town and the Northern economy.
Our immediate priority is to convert the current surge in public sector investment into additional private finance to deliver targeted outcomes: a revitalised, safe and attractive town centre, improved transport connectivity and increased footfall.
We will support growing clusters, facilitate refurbishment and re‑purposing of under‑used property for business and homes, and work with partners to turn ambition into deliverable projects that create higher‑quality jobs and lasting prosperity.
