PanicGO a producer of innovative personal GPS alarm trackers has won a place on the Lyreco Goodness Microbusiness Support Programme. Chosen as one of ten microbusinesses PanicGO will benefit from a support package estimated to be worth £20,000.

PanicGO produces the technology needed to keep lone workers, seniors, and individuals out on their own, safe. Their innovative and discreet personal GPS alarm tracker Panic Solo provides the user with 24/7 Careline monitoring, and PING – a self-reveal location option to share with family and friends. The company has plans to launch Panic Senior later in the year.

Speaking about their award Stephen Bradbury said: “We are a new business with a new product – it really helps when a big, successful company like Lyreco sees what we do, and validates what we are trying to achieve.”

Stephen continued: “Many other trackers are not fit for purpose and with that go unused, so we have developed a solution controlled by a hidden and discreet Bluetooth button to enhance safety and reduce costs.”

Lyreco, the European leader and third largest distributor of workplace products and services in the world, is a company with strong CSR and environmental credentials. The support programme was launched in November 2021 to find and bolster ambitious microbusinesses in the UK and Ireland motivated by a greater societal purpose.

The pandemic has had a devastating impact on many microbusinesses, in turn affecting employment and the resilience of communities. As an essential component of the UK and Ireland economy, Lyreco’s programme aims to provide microbusinesses with the support and resources needed to empower them to thrive in the post-pandemic economy.

PanicGO is joined by a diverse range of other winners: BeeWrap, an eco-friendly beeswax food wrap company; Canvass, a provider of bespoke websites, each hosted with 100% renewable energy; Food Safe System, a digital food safety compliance platform preventing unnecessary food waste; Big Boy Beanbags, beanbags designed to withstand the test of time and reduce waste; Amplify Goods, a specialist supplier of sustainable everyday essentials; Pro Earth a natural and sustainable pollution control product; Staysafe a washing and recycling PPE service; S’wheat a reusable plant-based water bottle and MLCS who specialise in helping UK SME businesses migrate from traditional telephone lines and systems to Hosted VoIP.

All winners will benefit from a place on Lyreco’s web-shop, marketing and communication support, a free catalogue listing of up to ten products or services, preferred payment days and ongoing business support.

Andrew Bryers, Lyreco UK & Ireland Head of CSR, commented: “Since our Lyreco Goodness Microbusiness Support Programme was launched late last year, it has led to a significant number of positive responses from all of our stakeholders. The programme has gone on to win an award at the National Social Value Conference highlighting the great benefits of such a scheme. The addition of a further three microbusinesses to the programme shows the growth in this initiative and how Lyreco is continuing to support many more businesses to grow. These new businesses also help provide new products and services to our customers in markets that are being demanded. Developing this programme is a key objective for Lyreco, with plans to grow even more in 2023.”

The Lyreco Goodness Microbusiness Support Programme is looking for applicants for 2023 in the UK & IRE who can demonstrate their alignment with Lyreco’s CSR and environmental credentials, as well as provide products and services in a similar field; namely PPE, hygiene, catering supplies, office furniture, IT and workplace technology and general office supplies.
