What a great turnout to yesterday’s conference – thank you to everyone who came. Around 150 people, our biggest turnout yet!
The Next Chapter is truly being written, and it was great to hear from a diverse audience about the ambitions for Huddersfield.
We heard from Kevin M. Nagle (above) and his plans for the future of Huddersfield Town and wider interaction with our town’s business community.
We heard from Kirklees Council leader Carole Pattison, who spoke about Huddersfield’s Blueprint and the clear focus the council has in delivering its vision.
Jonathan Hardy also described the exciting new developments within the Kingsgate Centre, launching at Easter next year, no doubt revitalising the town’s night time economy.
Sue Cooke led us through the next stage of the University’s investment in Health and Wellbeing – with their £100 million investment to date, and 6 more buildings to come.
Local business leaders shared their inspiration and positivity about local companies making global impact, with talks from Sarah Bowes, James Collett, Adnan Rasool and Sam Wymer. (Pictured above)
In the latter parts we heard from David Shepherd, Executive Director of Place at Kirklees Council, and both newly elected local MPs, Harpreet Uppal and Paul Davies, regarding policies intended to positively impact the local area.
Closing words, even a song, were delivered by Emma Clarkson regarding WYCA’s Good Growth programme, and Sam Teale showed his award winning Christmas video and finished with an upbeat message; “if I can do it, you can too!”
Let’s borrow our hosts Huddersfield Town Football Club’s new phrase and see what we can achieve for Huddersfield if we can do “Everything Together”!
