What does your role entail?

I have a great team in place to manage the business on a daily basis, so I’m mainly focused on future growth. I’m responsible for ensuring the business is constantly evolving to meet the demands of a fast paced, ever changing industry. I make sure we keep up with trends and technology as a company and adapt where necessary.

What attracted you to start/operate your business in Huddersfield?

It started as a home based business while living in Huddersfield. I’ve had some fantastic support from local businesses over the years however so certainly wouldn’t want to relocate away from the town.

Name some of your biggest business achievements:

I think leading the market in what we do is our biggest achievement. We’re helping to transform a section of the holiday rental industry and open it up to the next generation.

What are your hopes for Huddersfield 10 years from now (2030)?

I would like to see the town centre revitalised through innovation and investment to ensure empty shops are no longer a regular sight on our high street. Improved transport links between other major towns and cities in the north (road and rail) would definitely help attract more visitors from outside the town.

On a personal level, what do you love most about the town?

I love that from almost anywhere in Huddersfield you are never more than 5 minutes from the countryside.

Where is your favourite place to eat/drink in Huddersfield?

For special occasions, a trip to Miller and Carter in Mirfield is always top of our list, great food and great service every time. Living in Golcar we have a good selection of pubs in and around the village. In summer we often finish a walk with the dog at The Walkers, sitting outside and watching the cricket.

Are there any recommendations or local knowledge you’d like to share with a visitor?

Huddersfield has some excellent walks with breath taking views. Anyone thinking of visiting the town should definitely set aside some time to get out and enjoy the countryside surrounding the town.
