Kirklees Council are looking for new talent to join their team, with several live job vacancies across a variety of departments and service areas.

The upcoming recruitment events are set to take place on Friday 7 October at Brian Jackson House, Huddersfield, and Thursday 3 November at Dewsbury Town Hall, and will allow people the chance to find out more about the benefits of working with the Council.

On the day attendees will be able to discuss current job vacancies, join skills sessions to help identify their existing skills and how to best utilise them, get help and advice in applying for jobs, discover  employment and apprenticeship opportunities and speak to the HR team about joining the talent bank.

The variety of available roles is extensive, with current vacancies within Highways, Greenspace, Catering, Schools, Business Support and Children services to name only a few. There will also be the opportunity to speak to existing employees within these areas about their current experiences, to gain an insight into what specific roles entail.

Additional advice will be available from the Employment and Skills team, who can provide information and guidance to support people through the application and interview process.

Councillor Paul Davies, Cabinet member for Corporate Services said:

“I encourage anyone looking for a job or a change in career to come along and speak to our recruitment team and the different services that will be there at both events.

“We really want to further strengthen and develop our workforce by attracting new talent and these recruitment events will help to support this”.

There is no need to book a place and people are being encouraged to call in and find out more about starting a career with Kirklees Council.
