The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of its awards programme, MY Awards, for 2024.
Now in its third year, the programme celebrates business innovation, resilience and true Yorkshire grit across the Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield areas.
The categories include:
- Community Hero
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Green Business of the Year
- Diversity and Inclusion Award
- Innovation Award
- International Business of the Year
- Employer of the Year
Three new categories have been added for 2024:
- Young Business of the Year (applicants must have started trading since 1 January 2021)
- SME of the Year (suitable for applicants with under 250 employees)
- Large Business of the Year (suitable for applicants with over 250 employees)
Winners will also be selected for Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield Member of the Year, and an overall Chamber Member of the Year winner will be an announced.
Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are thrilled to bring the MY Awards back for a third year which promises to be bigger and better than before! The introduction of three new categories will help us to celebrate the achievements of even more business across the Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield.”
Taking home trophies at last year’s awards were Bespoke Stairlifts Limited, Faith Brand Communications, Flat Stan First Aid Limited, Gina Reid, HAD-Print, Huddersfield Giants Community Trust, Ideal Autolease, Kirklees Stadium Development Ltd, Sewtec Automation Limited and Solupak Limited.
Stuart Nimmo, operations director at HAD-Print, 2023’s Chamber Member of the Year winner, said, “Being recognised for what you do in your wider community makes a difference. Some days it’s purely just how you do it. We all have skills and experience, how you bring them to play within your business, is what makes the difference. The art of leading as you’d expect others to do so is a small act but can make big impacts.
“Here at HAD-Print, we work with such a wide variety of people and organisations, it’s this background which makes us grateful for being recognised as Mid Yorkshire Chamber’s Member of the Year for 2023.”
The awards are now open for entries until 7 June 2024. The awards ceremony will be held at the Chamber’s glitzy annual dinner at Dean Clough Mills, on Thursday 19 September 2024.

Entries are free for Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce members and cost £150 + VAT per entry for non-members. An early bird discounted price of £100 + VAT per entry is available for those who apply before Friday 29 March.
