Yorkshire manufacturing giant, STADA Thornton & Ross, welcomed the MP for Colne Valley, Paul Davies, to its 183,000sq ft production site in Linthwaite offering a first-hand look at the scale, capability and continued investment in its UK operations.

Hosted by Andrew Sunley, site head and vice president of technical operations for STADA Thornton & Ross, the visit included an overview of production activity, including a tour of the creams and liquids manufacturing lines, which produce household brand products including Zoflora, Cetraben and Covonia.
During the visit, Paul Davies met colleagues across the site, including process unit heads Claire Harrison and Mariusz Antoszs, gaining insight into both the technical expertise and day-to-day operations behind production at Linthwaite.

The visit follows the announcement of STADA’s 2025 annual results, which reported group revenues of €4.3bn, to with the UK business making a strong contribution. The Linthwaite site recorded a significant year, manufacturing 67.8 million units across all SKUs.

This included 26.9 million units of creams, equating to approximately 4.7 metric tonnes of semi-solid bulk, highlighting the scale and technical capability of the operation. Production volumes were led by some of STADA UK’s most recognisable brands, including Zoflora (20.6 million units), the Care range of pharmacy products (12.6 million units) and Covonia (5.3 million units).

Speaking about the visit, Paul Davies MP said:

“It was a real pleasure to visit the Linthwaite site of STADA, one of our major employers in the constituency. I was really impressed by the range of products that they produce – many of which are instantly recognisable.

“The commitment of the management team to producing high quality products is clear, as is their commitment to their employees.

“It was great to see that many employees had worked there for many years. The recent capital investment in the site is great news and shows the confidence STADA has in the ongoing future of this site.”

During 2025, teams also successfully transferred and scaled up ten products onto a new creams platform, further strengthening the site’s manufacturing capability and readiness for future growth. This positive momentum has continued into 2026, with performance remaining strong.

Andrew Sunley added:

“It was good to be able to host Paul and show him the hard work of our teams on site.

“We are proud to showcase the skill of our colleagues and the vital role Linthwaite plays in supplying trusted healthcare products to patients and consumers across the UK.

“Having improved quality and efficiency levels, the production site is aiming to manufacture increased volumes of creams and liquids for STADA companies across the globe. We are also preparing to start manufacturing Multilind dry skin cream for the German market.”

The visit reflects the ongoing importance of the Linthwaite site within STADA’s global manufacturing network, underpinned by continued investment, skilled teams and a focus on consistent, high-quality production.
