As part of Huddersfield Business Week, we hosted our “Standing Up for Huddersfield” event to introduce Huddersfield Unlimited, outline our goals, lay out our branding and communications plan, and let attendees know how they can get involved.
With over 30 local business and community leaders in attendance, director John Harman introduced Huddersfield Unlimited and talked about the goals of this group of private sector individuals to increase inward investment and raise the profile of Huddersfield in a positive way.
Director Katrina Cliffe then walked attendees through the communications strategy that outlined how Huddersfield Unlimited would look to achieve these goals. The strategy includes a proactive PR effort to spread good news as well as harnessing the power of social media to increase awareness of the town’s attractive features. Huddersfield Unlimited will also implement a website that will include contact information for businesses looking to relocate to Huddersfield, as well as creating a digital prospectus to target this industry specifically.
Questions from attendees included queries around public sector involvement, measurements of success and request for further details on how to get involved.
The event was held at the Yorkshire Children’s Centre, Brian Jackson House in Huddersfield.
