The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the hard work and dedication of its members after two member businesses were recognised in the Queen’s 2022 New Year’s Honours list.
Melanie Oldham, CEO of cybersecurity experts Bob’s Business, has been awarded an OBE for her services to cybersecurity as part of the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster (YCSC), helping to develop cybersecurity awareness across the region.
Munir Mamujee, managing director of m2r Education, has also been awarded an MBE for his services to education and exports. An international education services provider, m2r recently won a prestigious global tender to supply international schoolteachers to the Al Khor International School (AKIS) in Qatar.
Speaking of the Honours, Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am incredibly proud of Melanie and Munir for their achievements and contributions to the local business community.
“This recognition is very well deserved and showcases the amazing talent we have here in the mid Yorkshire region for achieving national success.
“I would also like to take a moment to congratulate Mandy Taylor, who has received a posthumous MBE in recognition of her work for charitable services.
“Mandy was an inspiration to many and a firm friend of the Chamber. The work she did for charity was incomparable and the legacy of her work will continue to make a difference.”
